Overview

Cheek dimples are considered as an attractive feature that enhances facial beauty. Natural dimples may occur in both males and females, either unilaterally or bilaterally. For those who don't have, dimple can be surgically created.

Objective

To create dimple on the cheek

Preoperative Preparation

Treat and stabilize all existing medical conditions, if any
Stop smoking at least one week before surgery
Stop one week before surgery
- All supplements that contain vitamin E, ginseng, ginko, garlic, fish oil and other ingredients that encourage bleeding during surgery
- Medicine that exacerbate bleeding during operation such as aspirin, NSAIDs and warfarin. Consult the physician who prescribed the medicine.

Duration: 0.5 to one hour
Anaesthesia: Local anaesthesia
When to Go Home after Surgery: On the same day
Recovery Time: 3 days
Technique: A small incision is made on the inside of the mouth cavity. Absorbable sutures are then inserted to create the dimple.

Recovery

Mild swelling for 3-5 days
Gargle the mouth with antiseptic mouth wash
Soft diet for one week
Finish oral antibiotic that is prescribed
