EYELASH TRANSPLANT

EYELASH TRANSPLANT
Overview

Artificial eyelashes require frequent short-term maintenance and are often inconvenient. In some cases, an allergic reaction results from the use of glue. Repeated artificial eyelash extensions may lead to traction alopecia.
Eyelash transplantation is technique to create longer, thicker and denser eyelashes. In eyelash transplantation using follicular unnit extraction (FUE) technique, each hair follicular unit (FU) is harvested one by one from the scalp in the back of the head using a special harvester. The FU is trimmed and implanted into margin of the eyelid. New hairs will grow from the implanted FUs to produce new eyelashes with desired length, thickness and density.

Preoperative Preparation

- Treat and stabilize all existing medical conditions, if any.
- Stop one week before surgery the following
- All supplements that contain vitamin E, ginseng, ginko, garlic, fish oil and other ingredients that cause more bleeding during surgery
- Medicine that cause excessive bleeding during operation such as aspirin, NSAIDs and warfarin. You may first need to consult the physician who prescribed the medicine

Procedure

Duration: 2-3 hours
Anaesthesia: Local anaesthesia
When to Go Home after Procedure: Immediately after procedure
Back to Work: 3-5 days
Technique: We practice follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique. No incision is made on the donor site. Instead donor hair follicles are extracted one by one in the donor area. As such there will be no surgical scars left behind in the donor site. The extracted hair follicles will be prepared and implanted one by one into the brow by using either a implanter or needle. The transplanted hair will live and grow in the brow and recreate a brow according to individual desired shape, thickness and length.
